Prime Minister Rowley Meets President and Chair of the Board of Directors of EXIM

Prime Minister Dr the Hon. Keith Rowley met with Reta Jo Lewis, President and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) at the Diplomatic Centre, St Clair today (Tuesday 18th June, 2024).

In January, Dr Rowley met with the EXIM Bank President and Chair in Washington, DC where discussions focused on energy, infrastructure and national security.

Today’s meeting identified various sectors for investment aimed at diversifying the economy.

Minister of Finance, the Hon. Colm Imbert, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, Senator the Hon Dr Amery Browne, Minister in the Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Legal Affairs, Senator the Hon Renuka Sagramsingh-Sooklal, Minister of Public Utilities, the Hon Marvin Gonzales, Minister of Trade and Industry, Senator the Hon. Paula Gopee-Scoon and Minister in the Ministry of Works and Transport, Senator the Hon. Richie Sookhai were also present at today’s meeting.

Lewis was accompanied by Her Excellency Candace A. Bond, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Acting Chief Banking Officer at EXIM Mr Jim Burrows and Acting Senior Vice President, Office of Small Business at EXIM, Ms. Tamara Maxwell.
