Prime Minister Young Host Spiritual Baptist Liberation Celebrations

Prime Minister the Hon Stuart R. Young, SC invited the leadership and members of the Spiritual Baptist community to a celebration at the Diplomatic Centre today (Saturday 22nd March, 2025).

Today’s event was held in commemoration of the repeal of the Shouters Prohibition Ordinance which is officially recognized annually with a public holiday on March 30th.

Minister of Youth Development and National Service, the Hon. Foster Cummings chaired the evening’s proceedings and led those gathered in worship.

Prime Minister Young delivered the feature address and underscored his Government’s commitment to ensuring freedom of worship for all faiths in Trinidad and Tobago.

His Eminence Patriarch Wayne Jones delivered remarks while Elect Lady Hilary Stapleton-Lloyd and Her Grace Matriarch Dorothy Hercules led the audience in prayer.

Government Ministers and His Worship the Mayor of Port of Spain, Alderman Chinua Alleyne were among the specially invited guests in attendance.
