Dragon Gas Deal Signed!
Prime Minister Dr the Honourable Keith Rowley and President of Venezuela, His Excellency Nicholas Maduro today (Saturday 25 August 2018) signed the terms for the development of cross-border gas from the Venezuelan Dragon Gas Field.
At the signing ceremony Prime Minister Rowley said this historic deal will allow Venezuelan gas to be monetized on the international market for the benefit of the people of Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela.
He said this model of cooperation holds out promise for further agreements in other areas.
President Muduro said he believes there is room for the development of robust bilateral trade between our two countries. He said this deal was proof of Venezuela’s willingness to engage with other nations.
The delegation which accompanied the Prime Minister included Minister of Energy and Energy Industries Senator the Honourable Franklin Khan, Minister of National Security the Honourable Stuart Young, Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs the Honourable Shamfa Cudjoe, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs Senator the Honourable Denis Moses Minister in the Ministry of Finance Senator the Honourable Alyson West and high-level executives of National Gas Company (NGC) and Shell.
