Official Opening of the D’Abadie/ Malabar Community Swimming Pool

Residents in the Malabar, D’Abadie/O’Mera, and surrounding areas now have access to the country’s newest swimming facility, as Prime Minister Dr the Hon. Keith Rowley officially opened the D’Abadie/ Malabar Community Swimming Pool today (Friday 15th December, 2023).
Designed for both recreational and competitive swimming, as well as training sessions, the pool spans 15 meters by 25 meters and features six lanes.
Completed in under a year, this amenity is equipped with an administrative structure featuring changing rooms, restroom facilities, a concession area, and parking. Additionally, it has a seating capacity for up to 60 spectators and 21 parking spaces.
Minister of Sport and Community Development, the Hon. Shamfa Cudjoe-Lewis, Minister of Education, Dr. the Hon. Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, Minister in the Ministry of Education and Member of Parliament for D’Abadie/O’Meara, the Hon. Lisa Morris-Julian and His Worship, Alderman Balliram Maharaj, Mayor of the Royal Chartered Borough of Arima also attended today’s event.
