Prime Minister Rowley Tours Mento Platform

Prime Minister Dr the Hon. Keith Rowley toured the Mento Platform at the Trinidad Offshore Fabricators Unlimited’s (TOFCO) fabrication yard in La Brea today (Wednesday 13th November, 2024).

The Mento Platform gas development is a 50/50 joint venture between EOG Resources Trinidad (EOG) and Bp Trinidad and Tobago. The platform is scheduled to set sail for installation off the east coast of Trinidad. Once in place, it will explore and develop gas resources in the region.

Prime Minister Rowley was joined on the tour by the Minister of Energy and Energy Industries and Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister the Hon. Stuart Young SC, Managing Director of EOG Resources, Mr George Vieira, President of bp Trinidad and Tobago, David Campbell and General Manager, TOFCO Mr Javed Mohammed.

Minister of Labour and Member of Parliament for the constituency of La Brea, the Hon Stephen Mc Clashie, Minister of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries, Senator the Hon. Kazim Hosein and Member of Parliament for Point Fortin, the Hon. Kennedy Richards Jr were also present at today’s visit.
