City Heights Development Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

Prime Minister Dr the Hon. Keith Rowley cut the ribbon to officially open the City Heights Development Project, a Public-Private Partnership residential community initiative in San Fernando today (Friday 7th February, 2025).

The 90-apartment complex located at the old San Fernando ice factory was a collaboration between the FURNESS Group of Companies, Home Solutions Ltd and the Government.

In delivering the feature address, Prime Minister Rowley hailed the pilot project as a “successful experiment” and emphasised the need for continued Public-Private Partnerships in housing. He noted that such initiatives not only address housing needs but also generate significant employment opportunities at all levels.

Minister of Housing and Urban Development, the Hon Camille Robinson-Regis, Minister in the Ministry of Finance and Member of Parliament for San Fernando East, the Hon Brian Manning, and Minister of Rural Development and Local Government and Member of Parliament for San Fernando West, the Hon. Faris Al-Rawi also attended today’s event.

Several Government Ministers, Members of Parliament and representatives from FURNESS Group of Companies and Home Solutions Ltd were also present at today’s event.
