CAF Pledges $1.3M to Relief Efforts
The CAF – Development Bank of Latin America has indicated that it will make a donation of USD 200,000 (TTD 1.3M approx.) to assist Government in its flood relief efforts.
In correspondence sent to Prime Minister Dr the Honourable Keith Rowley the President of the Latin American bank, Luis Carranza, expressed solidarity with the people of Trinidad and Tobago.
Mr Carranza said, “I wish to express to you and through you to the Trinidadian people our deepest solidarity in the face of the devastating effects of the floods and landslides that have affected the island over the last days.”
He added, “In this regard I would like to inform you that CAF will make a donation of US$ 200,000 to contribute to the humanitarian and aid efforts through a designated government channel.”
