National Day of Remembrance 2021
President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago Her Excellency, Paula Mae Weekes, Prime Minister Dr the Hon. Keith Rowley, Mrs Sharon Clark-Rowley and Minister of National Security, the Hon. Fitzgerald Hinds participated in the National Day of Remembrance Ceremony 2021 at the National Memorial Park, Port of Spain today (Sunday 14th November, 2021).
The solemn wreath-laying occasion observed annually, honours members of the armed forces who served and fell in World War I (1914-1918) and World War II (1939-1945).
For the second year, the event was held in keeping with COVID-19 Public Health Regulations, with the absence of a parade and was not open to members of the public.
Air Vice-Marshal Darryl Daniel, Chief of Defence Staff of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force, His Excellency Archbishop Fortunatus Nwachukwu, Titular Archbishop of Acquaviva Apostolic Nuncio and the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Mr Anthony Sheppard, Representative of the Trinidad & Tobago Legion of the Royal Commonwealth Ex-Services League also laid wreaths at the Cenotaph.
