CABINET APPOINTED A DIRECTOR FOR THE STRATEGIC SERVICES AGENCY

Cabinet agreed to the appointment of Colonel (Ret’d) George Robinson, former Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management and career military officer as the new Head of the Strategic Services Agency (SSA).

Some responsibilities of Colonel (Ret’d) George Robinson include Law Enforcement Coordination and Intelligence Functions; restructuring of the SSA by integrating the functions of the National Operations Centre and the National Security Training Academy.

CABINET APPOINTED A TASK FORCE FOR THE NATIONAL STATISTICAL INSTITUTE OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO

Cabinet agreed to appoint a Task Force to support the implementation of the National Statistical Institute of Trinidad and Tobago. The National Statistical Institute of Trinidad and Tobago will eventually replace the Central Statistical Office (CSO) of Trinidad and Tobago. The following persons will be a part of the Task Force:
